The Immanuel Prophecy

Isaiah 7:10-14

10 Moreover the Lord spoke again to Ahaz, saying, 11 “Ask a sign for yourself from the Lord your God; ask it either in the depth or in the height above.”

12 But Ahaz said, “I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!”

13 Then he said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it a small thing for you to weary men, but will you weary my God also? 14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.[a]

1.    Which verses stand out to you the most?



2.    How can you apply the wisdom to your own life from that verse(s)
By realizing God's plan for life was around long before me and that it is easier to follow the plan because He plans better than I do!


3.    What could you be happy about if you wanted to?
That Jennifer is not spending Christmas in the hospital.


4.    What could you be proud about if you wanted to?
Matthew taking care of his mother in her time of need even after disagreements have happened.


5.    What could you be thankful about if you wanted to?
That my sister was willing and able to help my family even when she has a legitimate axe to grind with some of them.


6.    What could you be excited about if you wanted to?
Getting to spend some time with ALL of my children!


7.    What action did you/will you take that really matters today?
The only things I can do at this point: Pray, cook a good Christmas meal, and spend time with my kids in fellowship and grace.


8.    Who could use a genuine kind word or some real love from you today? (Can be more than one person)
Jennifer Lovett, Matthew Lovett, Dylan Lovett, and Noah Lovett. -Done.


9.    What is one thing you wish someone else knew about you that you feel that no one or not many people know?
The depth of how much I hurt physically and emotionally and how isolated I feel from everyone I know in my life.
