Pride...

6/11/2013 12:06 Pride: Proverbs 6 ... 16 These six things the Lord hates, indeed, seven are an abomination to Him: 17 A proud look [the spirit that makes one overestimate himself and underestimate others], a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that manufactures wicked thoughts and plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, 19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even under oath], and he who sows discord among his brethren. 20 My son, keep your father’s [God-given] commandment and forsake not the law of [God] your mother [taught you]. 21 Bind them continually upon your heart and tie them about your neck. 22 When you go, they [the words of your parents’ God] shall lead you; when you sleep, they shall keep you; and when you waken, they shall talk with you. Look thru your bible and see how often pride (proud, haughty, etc)# is listed and God's point of view on pride...Is love3 the only other word mentioned more often? At least, is anymore3 importance put on any other word? I dunno. Check out t3his blog and re23ply3 or leave me a oice mail at 770-975-7516 Galatians 5:22-24 Amplified Bible (AMP) 22 But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness, 23 Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [[a]that can bring a charge]. 24 And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires. Gentleness, meekness, loving, forgiving, humble and lowly... vs harsh, hard, sharp, and pressing... Matthew 11:29-30 Amplified Bible (AMP) 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest ([a]relief and ease and refreshment and [b]recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. 30 For My yoke is wholesome (useful, [c]good—not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne. 1 Peter 5:6 Therefore humble yourselves [demote, lower yourselves in your own estimation] under the mighty hand of God, that in due time He may exalt you... Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God and in due time e will exalt you. Judgment, complaining, conceit, and self-centered ness (contrast with conceit please) all come from pride. Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. 1 John 2:16 For everything in the world; the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life comes not from the Father but from the world. Matthew 18:4 Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Ezekiel 21:26 this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Take off the turban, remove the crown. It will not be as it was: The lowly will be exalted and the exalted will be brought low. Proverbs 29:23 Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor. #showmeGodslove No one can show you mercy if you never give them the chance or if they don't know you need it. Give someone a chance to be decent to you. @lancelovett @lovettnoah @jackets80 @ezralovett If you read nothing else here, please dwell on this...Most sin derives from pride... Think about it seriously... From somewhere in America, and on the sign of the rebel, Jesus... Just Lance...
